Below is a list of upcoming events that EAIC would like to highlight.
3, 10, 17 February 2021Urban Development Network webinars - Urban Innovative Actions, achievements and perspectivesThe Urban Innovative Actions (UIA) and the Urban Development Network (UDN) are joining forces to organise this series of three webinars. With the objective to share the current achievements of UIA, as part of the efforts to capitalise on the UIA experience mobilised within the UIA Knowledge Management Strategy, explore links with the wider Cohesion Policy, and draw perspectives for the renewal of UIA as part of the European Urban Initiative for the programming period 2021-2027. Since 2015, UIA is the Urban Lab of Europe, an Initiative that provides urban authorities with resources from the European Regional and Development Fund to test new and unproven solutions to address urban challenges of European Union relevance. With the preparation of Cohesion Policy programmes 2021/27 entering a decisive phase and the adoption of the New Leipzig Charter by Member States, this webinar series is an ideal occasion to showcase what UIA projects have to offer to inspire programming, to draw first lessons and discuss ways to optimise UIA’s contribution to sustainable urban development in the future. The series is structured in 3 webinar sessions: - Session 1 - 3 February: UIA Achievements. What has been achieved so far? - Session 2 - 10 February: UIA & Cohesion Policy. Bridging UIA & Cohesion Policy; how to optimise UIA added value? - Session 3 - 17 February: Future UIA. What comes next as a new model for innovative actions under the European Urban Initiative 2021/27? Click here for more information. |
22-23 February 2021R&I in Recovery: what can Horizon Europe deliver? As Horizon Europe prepares to launch, therefore, serious questions remain as to whether the whole of European R&I can somehow be made greater than the sum of its parts. Can the Commission establish genuine synergies between Horizon and other flagship instruments, such as the InvestEU, Just Transition and Innovation Funds or Digital Europe? Will member states and associated countries agree to align their own resources and programmes with Europe’s R&I ambitions? Within Horizon itself, can the Commission build stronger pathways between fundamental science and market competitiveness, define a compelling value proposition for industry, and engage citizens throughout the R&I process? And in the global context, can Europe realistically expect to achieve its strategic goals in domains such as climate without China (and the US) on board? On February 22 and 23, Science|Business will convene leading figures from across its own Network and the international R&I spectrum to address these issues in more depth.
