Filippos Ververidis, Dean of the School of Agricultural Sciences
We faced challenges such as time limitations, lack of specific contacts and experience in managing and contacting all consortium partners. However, the innovation consultants helped focus on building and preparing the consortium and provided us with the security of knowing that things would be organised and done on time; in the end, all targets were reached.
I would recommend other organisations to use the services of consultants, because faculty and researchers’ time is usually extremely limited to undertake such tasks like supporting the maturation of ideas, development of the proposal and/or the management of projects, and thus it is quite important to seize opportunities that will hopefully result in successful funding. As an experienced researcher and a faculty member, I would say that this is the major complaint and a serious drawback of a researcher, feeling left alone helpless when belonging in certain University departments that, in general, do not provide such services.
