Marek Ostafil, Member of the Board
First of all, was the need to manage the financial part of the project to ensure that everything would be done according to EU requirements, especially for the entity which had no experience with any type of grant – either from national or European programmes.
The most crucial element was the knowledge on how interim reports (the financial part) should be organised and prepared. For a small organisation (SME) to receive such a grant for the first time, it is very important to have assistance and quick feedback in many small details of the project’s management, accounting, interim reports' structure - to ensure the best possible quality of the reports – especially the financial part.
The most important and essential aspect was that we were able to count on the knowledge, assistance and quick feedback in all matters – starting from the types of costs, book-keeping rules, interim reports' structure and filling out – to ensure that the requirements of the European Commission will be fulfilled and a frictionless evaluation process will be ensured for the convenience of the Project Officer. This enabled us to focus on the technology and business side of the project, without fear that the formal part of the project would not meet the European Commission's expectations.
We would recommend the services of consultants, especially for SMEs, which in many cases, have no experience in public funds and have limited personnel. On the other side, in the future we would be happy to be able to use the services of the consultants in future projects and be able to focus on the tech and business side of the project, ensuring at the same time that all the requirements of the European Commission will be fulfilled in regard of the reporting.
